JCI states building 'promising' cooperation between knitting division, Saudi Misbah Group
According to JCI, the initiative aims to build “promising” partnerships, with several Jordanian factories participating. The events are also expected to strengthen Jordan’s presence in major international exhibitions, particularly the Sourcing at Magic trade fair in the US, which served as the foundation for this collaboration.
The meetings were organized with support from the ITC-MENATEX project, implemented in cooperation with the International Trade Centre (ITC) and funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
The initiative seeks to boost the sector’s competitiveness through sustainable trade, support the shift toward a circular economy, improve environmental performance, expand exports, and increase Jordan’s international market presence.
Activities included a creative showcase of textile products and field visits to Jordanian factories, highlighting their strong production capacity and adherence to global quality standards.
JCI emphasized that this step marks the start of sustainable business ties that will unlock new markets, support exports, and create job opportunities. Jordan’s textile and clothing sector currently produces goods valued at $2.6 billion annually, exports nearly $2 billion, and employs around 96,000 people.
